After class, all students may participate in a wide variety of afternoon and evening activities (selections vary by program). Favorites include playing Capture the Flag, Ultimate Frisbee and soccer games.
Quiet time is always an option for those who wish to study or relax with friends.
COMPUTERS | Back to Top
There is a computer lab for student use; however, access to campus computer labs is limited. While a computer is not required for Summer at Case classes, residential students who own laptops and printers may find it convenient to have them while attending. Case will not provide technical support, including email or internet access, for personal computers. Details regarding the rights and responsibilities of computer and internet usage on campus are provided in the acceptance packet.
CREDIT | Back to Top
Spectrum and Equinox classes carry either one or two semesters of high school credit (see course descriptions). Students in these two programs receive grades and high school credit for their courses. A grade of C and above is considered successful completion of the course.
EVALUATION | Back to Top
All students receive a narrative evaluation after the completion of a course. The evaluation includes course grade, number of high school credits earned, and comments on the student’s performance in class as well as recommendations for future study.
GRADES | Back to Top
Students must receive a grade of C or higher to receive credit. As CTD is accredited through the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools, students may receive credit for courses successfully completed. The acceptance of credits at the student’s school depends on that school’s institutional policy about the recognition of credit from outside schools. Students who wish to receive credit for a course at their home school should discuss this option with their academic counselor or school administrator before applying to the Summer Program.
MEALS | Back to Top
Lunch is included in the tuition for Spectrum and Equinox students. Students will be given an ID which will be used as a meal card in which they will have a daily allowance in which they will have access to several eating facilities on campus.
PARKING | Back to Top
High school students who will be driving to campus may purchase a parking permit in the assigned lot. Details will be given during Opening Day Orientation.

RESIDENTIAL LIFE | Back to Top
• Students reside and eat in university residence halls under the supervision of specially trained residential staff.
• Students are housed by gender and by class.
• A Residential Coordinator oversees the residential staff, activities, health and social issues. The Summer at Case residential staff is comprised of widely represented college and graduate students who have a background in residential life and a passion for learning.
• Each residential staff is responsible for groups of approximately 10 to 12 students.
• The staff supervises age-appropriate activities both on and off campus.
• On weekends students enjoy a broad range of activities, such as off-campus theater, concerts, movies, sporting events, dances and talent shows.
